Management Information System MIS is one of the most widely used enterprise application. MIS as the name denotes keep the information which is related to management it can be any thing or person for whom the MIS has been created. Mis are generally text based information system which include a lot of the data entry operation. The MIS contains one key factor around which all the information stored.
For example if any organization wants to prepare an MIS of the employee than the employee will be the key factor and all other information in mis will be in respect of the employees.
Different type of MIS solutions has different scope in the organization and has different benefits in the organization. In an overview MIS system presents the performance, future scope and planning possibilities in the organization.
As the size of any organization or industry increases need of MIS increases as keeping a large data manually and analysis of that data manually is very typical so MIS become a very easy and power full tool for managing information in the organization. For example if we want to create an MIS for the HR of any company or institution we have to create an application which will run centrally and all hr persons can feed the documents and information in the application so all the data regarding HR will be in one centralized location and access of data for decision making will become very easy. While in manual process there will be different files for everything like there will be a register for joining details, there will be file for salary details and there will be a file for leave details etc.
